There are three different types of scholarship to get benefits by contributing your time for Temple KUKURI.

Scholarship Volunteer Associate Program (STAR Associate Benefit)

​

We would like to not turn anyone away from Temple KUKURI due to lack of funds. You can become an STAR Associate by volunteering. We will assign specific times and tasks for your volunteer work.

  • One hour/month of your time as volunteer at monthly new moon tea or other temple cervices as needed OR

  • One three (4) hour or more shift of your time as volunteer at one of these Temple events: Fundraising events (twice a year), Annual temple clean up. Please contact us for current events you can volunteer.

Temple KUKURI Staff Program (MOON Associate Benefit + Complementary Classes)

​

This position is only available for current Associate members.  We are looking for committed temple volunteer staff. This staff is entitled to be a MOON Associate and can attend selected classes of Temple KUKURI free of charge. This position requires a 6-month commitment with 30-day notice to begin. There are currently two specific positions:
 

Volunteer and Associate Coordinator: Working on your own time, from your location. 

  • Manage schedule for scholarship volunteer Associates and Temple volunteers (using an online calendar)

  • Keep track of scholarship volunteers’ time

  • List volunteer tasks needed to be done around the temple and for events.

  • Temple cleaning and/or

  • FB and website management

 Class Assistant Volunteer

​

You are eligible to be a class assistant volunteer with an Associate status.  You can attend a class* of your choice free of charge when you sign up as a class assistant volunteer. Please contact the instructor(s) of the class in advance.

  • Take attendance and class fee from attendees

  • Set up before class and clean up after class

  • Assist instructors during the class when necessary.

 

*KUKURI selected classes and workshops only.

Membership cannot be shared or transferred.
